Duffy Duffy & Burdo, Esqs., Take Top Sponsorship for Prostate Cancer Group's 2004 Charity Golf Classic and Casino Night

April 28, 2004 , JERICHO , NY --- The law firm of Duffy Duffy & Burdo, Esqs., is the top presenting sponsor for the Education Center for Prostate Cancer Patients (ECPCP) 2004 Charity Golf Classic and Casino Night for Monday, June 7, 2004 at the Brookville Country Club.
A $20,000 check was presented by Michael Duffy (C), managing partner of Duffy Duffy & Burdo, to ECPCP Executive Director, Dr. James Lewis (L) and to Hon. Gregory Peterson (R) of Berkman Henoch Peteron & Peddy who is serving as the event's chairman. This Golf and Gamble event features a day of golf followed by cocktails, casino games and a fabulous silent auction and raffle.
Co-honorees and prostate cancer survivors Herman Badillo, Partner, Fischbein Badillo Wagner Harding and Michael J. Sherin, Chairman, The Garden City Group (GCC), will be saluted by the ECPCP for their outstanding philanthropic and advocacy efforts on behalf of prostate cancer patients.
Hon. Gregory P. Peterson is serving as event Chairman. Presently, a partner in the law firm Berkman Henoch Peterson & Peddy, PC, Peterson has a vast political career spanning over thirty years. Peterson is Chairman and CEO of Nassau Downs OTB and a past Presiding Supervisor, Town of Hempstead (1993 to 1998);
Supervisor, Town of Hempstead (1987 to 1993); Former Councilman, Town of Hempstead , elected: 1972, 1976, 1980, 1984; First Vice Chairman, Nassau County Republican and Town of Hempstead Republican Committees . Peterson is anticipating an outstanding event. The ECPCP's outreach continues to educate, empower and comfort prostate cancer patients and their families. The access to information and counsel they provide are critical factors in the treatment and recovery process. The efforts of the volunteer Committee and Co-Honorees are all targeted to making this event a huge success, said Peterson.
The funds raised will assist the ECPCP as they educate and support prostate cancer patients and their families by seeking out the latest medical research and data on diagnostic techniques and treatment protocols.
